As an advocate for Ontario’s municipal retirees since 1977, the Municipal Retirees Organization Ontario (MROO) continues to be an influential voice in issues that affect the quality of our lives.

Working on behalf of municipal retirees, MROO has played an active role in securing pension benefit improvements through their representation to the OMERS Pension Board. They continue to monitor and advocate for retiree rights during the legislative transition at OMERS.

Since 1984, they have assisted thousands of retirees to avoid the financial risk of unexpected illness in the absence of employer-sponsored benefits. With escalating health care costs and continuing cutbacks to OHIP services, this insurance program is now more important than ever. Over the years, MROO has identified other types of insurance coverage important to retirees and expanded their range of products to include them.

Visit the MROO website for more about their organization including MROO membership information.

MROO is recognized and endorsed by a diverse cross-section of municipal associations including: Ontario Municipal Human Resources Association; Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers; Association of Municipal Tax Collectors of Ontario; Association of Ontario Road Superintendents; Canadian Union of Public Employees (Ontario Division); Ontario Association of Children’s Aid Societies; Ontario Association of School Business Officials; Ontario Public School Boards’ Association; Ontario Separate School Trustees’ Association; Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs; and Police Association of Ontario.
